A giant river, which is even feasible crowned as the sixth largest river in the world recently discovered by British scientists.

Remarkably, this river is found at the bottom of the Black Sea, a deep-sea between southeastern Europe and Asia Minor.

Dr. Parsons found that the underground river at the base of the Black Sea flowed at about four miles per hour, drain 22,000 cubic meters of water per second. This is 10 times larger than Europe's largest rivers, the Rhine.

The Great Barrier Reef is the world's largest reef system. composed of over 2,900 individual reefs and 900 islands stretching for over 2,600 kilometres over an area of approximately 344,400 square kilometres. The reef is located in the Coral Sea, off the coast of Queensland in north-east Australia.

The Great Barrier Reef can be seen from outer space and is the world's biggest single structure made by living organisms. This reef structure is composed of and built by billions of tiny organisms, known as coral polyps. This reef supports a wide diversity of life, and was selected as a World Heritage Site in 1981. CNN labeled it one of the seven natural wonders of the world. The Queensland National Trust named it a state icon of Queensland.

A large part of the reef is protected by the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park, which helps to limit the impact of human use, such as fishing and tourism. Other environmental pressures on the reef and its ecosystem include runoff, climate change accompanied by mass coral bleaching, and cyclic population outbreaks of the crown-of-thorns starfish.

The Great Barrier Reef has long been known to and used by the Aboriginal Australian and Torres Strait Islander peoples, and is an important part of local groups' cultures and spirituality. The reef is a very popular destination for tourists, especially in the Whitsunday Islands and Cairns regions. Tourism is an important economic activity for the region, generating AU$ 1 billion per year.

The Great Barrier Reef supports a diversity of life, including many vulnerable or endangered species, some of which may be endemic to the reef system.

Living Roofs

-Green roofs, also known as eco-roofs or vegetated roofs or ling roofs is the idea of
growing plants and grass on roofs. That sounds an odd idea, doesn't it? Some countries
in Europe, America and China have implemented green roof activity by planting trees on
top of the apartment buildings and houses in response to a trend toward environmentally-
friendly technology. What does this roof do ? A planted rooftop helps to filter air,
lessen the burden on sewers by arbsorbing rainwater, providing insulation, and creating
a habitat for wildlife. It also helps to lower air temperatures in the buildings below,
and combat the strong effect to heat and the sun. Modern green roof trends began in
Germany in the 1960s. These days it is estimated that about 10% of all German roof have
been "greened". Several European countries including Germany, Switzerland, the Netherland,
Italy, Austria, Hungary, Sweden and the UK are promoting green roofs.

Global Warming Has Become A Worldwide Issue

Global Warming means that the average temperature of the Earth's near-surface air
and ocean is rising and this is not good for our planet. Global Warming can affect
our daily life. If the Earth's temperature is rising there will be water shortages
for example. People might not be able to water their gardens. Some forest may die
off and become deserts. The increasing heat san cause snow covered mountain peaks
to melt causing floods. Many people say that Global Warming is mainly caused by
humans we are taking advantage of our natural resources and giving nothing back in
return. The JOEYS CLUB from KANGGURU have an important message to give to all the
young generation all over Indonesia.
